After the showing of the 2012 Academy Award winning documentary short, Saving Face, IndieZone.tv was able to meet not only the filmmakers, but also the doctor featured in this ever-moving film. Filmmaker Daniel Junge and Pakistani director Sharmeen Obaid-Chinoy spoke with us along side one of the films subjects, London based Pakistani-born plastic surgeon Dr. Mohammad Jawad. We learned how the team initially found each other after listening to a BBC special and how this documentary turned into an Oscar winning piece. This touching film addresses the issues involved with the acid attacks in Pakistan. We watch the journey of one London- based surgeon who returns to his native land in an attempt to restore the faces of the people of Pakistan. Review by Rachael McOwen.
