Meet the 2012 National Student Poets: Lylla Younes, Claire Lee, Luisa Banchoff, Natalie Richardson, and Miles Hewitt; they're great we promise!

The President's Committee on the Arts and the Humanities (PCAH) and the Institute of Museum and Library Services (IMLS) teamed up with the Alliance for Young Artists & Writers to create the first annual National Student Poets Program, the country's highest honor for youth poets.  Indiezone.tv's Christie McDonald sat down with the recently White House appointed winners at the National Bookfest - Lylla Younes, Claire Lee, Luisa Banchoff, Natalie Richardson, and Miles Hewitt - to discuss the award, their reaction to the news, meeting for the first time, their love of poetry, and what comes next in their young lives. Most of them are just going through the college process now (Claire being the only junior of the bunch), but wherever they end up, whatever they decide to do, we have confidence that great things are to come for these five talented, stand-out individuals.

The 2012 National Student Poets might be great at poetry, but what about talking on the phone?

When is the one time you should pick up your phone during school? Ask Claire Lee.
